I built my first Tesla Coil at age 13. I read an article in Popular Electronics and I was hooked. This coil started life in 2003. It uses two 10KV 25mA ignition transformers. The gap is a 6 step static job made from copper pipe couplings. The secondary is wound on 3 inch PVC.
